As a wedding photographer you must be able to fully rely on your equipment and materials. What does a professional wedding photographer actually bring to a wedding?

  1. At the top of this list, cameras and lenses.
Always make sure you have an extra camera with you. If an unexpected defect occurs, you can quickly change your camera and continue photographing. Make sure this camera is set the same so that you can immediately continue photographing where you left off.
Bring a combination of zoom and prime lenses. This way you can take a variety of images and if a defect occurs in your lens you can quickly grab another one and continue photographing.
  2. Memory cards
Multiple high-capacity, fast memory cards are a must to have with you. It is important to have enough space and make backups while shooting. This is why most cameras nowadays are equipped with a double card slot.
  3. Batteries and chargers
For long days it is advisable to take extra batteries and a charger with you. This way you can continue taking photos without any worries.
  4. Flashes and lighting
You can use clip-on flashes for low-light situations, such as the ceremony or evening party. You can use diffusers and softboxes to soften the light and create a certain atmosphere. This will mainly be during the love shoot and family photos.
  5. Camera strap
A comfortable and safe way to carry your cameras with you. It reduces fatigue and gives a professional appearance. There are various camera straps for sale. With us these are: harness, harness for one camera, shoulder strap and a wrist strap.
  6. Backpack and/or suitcase
As you may have noticed, you take quite a lot of equipment and materials with you as a wedding photographer. A strong backpack and/or camera case is therefore a must to have with you. If you have a suitcase, it may be wise to also take a backpack with you. For example, you can take a smaller selection of equipment with you to your love shoot during this day.
  7. Reflection screen
For directing natural light and reducing shadows, this is useful when making portraits/love shoots.
  8. Lens filters
UV filters for lens protection and polarizing filters for controlling reflections and improving colors. Please note, make sure you turn it straight on your lens, if it turns crooked it is a big challenge to turn it away from your lens.
  9. Laptop and backup system
A laptop to make a backup during the event and perhaps already a preview. To create a backup, it is recommended to work with an external hard drive or cloud storage. Files are very large these days, and this way your laptop's memory is not immediately full with all the photos you have taken.
